Boss History Hugo Boss is a world-renowned fashion house that has its main headquarters in Metzingen, Germany. It was founded by Hugo Ferdinand Boss from 1885-1948. Boss humble beginnings can be traced in 1924 where he started his own clothing company which was based in a small town of Stuggart, Germany. In 1930, Boss was forced to shut down due to the economic climate. But was back on his feet again in 1931, where Hugo became a member of the Nazi. With Adolf Hitler gaining power in 1933, Boss began to prosper as he became the official and sole supplier of uniforms to the SS and SA. Upon Boss's death on 1948, his business still continues. With the demand of the SS uniforms slowly going down and eventually stopped in 1953, the business find it's other source of income and that is in making suits. As of today, Boss has a total of 9,500 employees worldwide and revenue of 1.69 billion Euros. With a number of over 1,000 shops and stores operated through franchise worldwide.
